Problem Solving 101

Using a YES/NO TREE ...

- You work for a catering company specializing in realistic face cakes. Your bestsellers are Whitney Houston and Alexander Hamilton. Recently, you submitted a proposal to cater the wedding of a prominent local businessman, but the potential client chose another catering company instead. Using a yes/no tree, attempt to determine why your proposal was rejected.

- You are the president of your local chess club. At one point, thirty members would gather every Tuesday night for an intense night of chess and chess-related socializing. Lately, attendance has been dropping off. Last week it was just you and some smelly guy named Doug. Use a yes/no tree to figure out why no one is showing up and find a possible solution to get your numbers back up.

- You are participating in a neighborhood potluck. The neighbors take this potluck very seriously, and will complain for months if any dish isn't up to par. You have decided to make the world's best meatloaf, but your practice loaf came out tasting (and looking) like dog food. Use a yes/no tree to figure out what went wrong.
